A few years ago, Ginger and Nuts were voted ‘Best Community Radio Show’. Since then, their weekly radio show can be heard across a network of radio stations, including Mersey Radio.

Ginger and Nuts throw in a mix of fun, mayhem and cheeky banter. It’s blended with feel-good music, competitions and interviews with some of the most extraordinary people! They also have their very own roving reporter, Nikky Smart who chats through the latest quirky stories.

Darren aka ‘Nuts’ said: “We love presenting our show on Mersey Radio, we love the people of Liverpool. It’s the accent, and how they interact and engage with us. It just makes the show fun”.

The dynamic presenters often also review various products and days out. They work in partnership with leading brands such as Empire Cinemas, Halo Top, Disney on Ice, and Bondara.

They have interviewed big names like Britt Ekland, Gloria Gaynor and Keith Lemon, and have also worked in partnership with big brands like Disney On Ice, Halo Top Ice Cream, Empire Cinemas, and Lush.

Off Air, Darren struggles with his Mental Health, as well as Fibromyalgia – a chronic debilitating disability.

“Radio lifts me and being able to engage with people, have fun and play great songs makes it all worthwhile” added Darren.
